Evelyn Chaka, 81 of Chandler, passed away on August 27, 2011. She was born on August 23, 1930 in Halletsville to the late Adolph and Albina Kainer Bollom. She was employed as school cafeteria manager with the LaMarque ISD before retiring in 1999. She is survived by her daughter Yvonne McCreery of Chandler, sisters Lillian Konarik of El Campo and Mary Lee Kallus of Edna, grandchildren Connie McGhee and husband Brady of Murchinson, Jennifer Dowdy of Chandler, great grandchildren Justin McGhee, Emily McGhee, Andrew Dowdy, Madison Dowdy and Brayden Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Jerome Chaka. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9 am until 12 pm at Triska Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Janak officiating. A Parish Rosary will precede the Funeral Mass at 1:30 pm at the Church. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Brady McGhee, Gary Konarik, Terry Konarik, Jerry Konarik, David Kallus and Dennis Kallus. Triska Funeral Home
