DEATH OF MRS. ANDERSON Cancer Fatal To Richmond Woman Thursday Afternoon Mrs. Darthula Anderson, wife of Charles C. Anderson, and one of Richmond's best women, died at her home on East Lexington street at 12:30 o'clock thursday afternoon at the age of fifty-two years. Mrs. Anderson had been a long sufferer of cancer of the stomach and several months ago was taken to a Kansas City hospital where she submitted to an operation, and upon her return to her home here her condition, apparently improved for some time, until several weeks ago when she began to grow worse, and her condition had been critical fro several days. Mrs. Anderson, who was the former Miss Darthula Clark, a native Ray Countian, born July 11, 1868. She was a daughter of the late Rufus J. and Mary Clark, who were numbered amongst this county's early residents and good citizenry. Her marriage to Mr. Anderson occurred here about 30 years ago and besides the husband she is survived by five children, Clayton and Miss Clara, who live at home, Carl Anderson, of Kansas City, Mrs. LeRoy Fay, of Columbia, MO., and Mrs. Earl Cowden, of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also survived by three brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Anderson has been a member of Richmond Baptist Church for a number of years, was a devout christian and was held in high esteem by her countless friends in this city. Many hearts are saddened on account of her death and the tenderest sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved members of her family. Funeral services will be held from the family residence on East Lexington street sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. F. L. Alexander, of the Baptist Church and Robert Mellvoy, pastor of the Methodist Church of this city. Interment will be made in the city cemetery. Richmond News
