Bio
Gail Cuculic, 88, of Center, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015, at Nacogdoches Medical Center in Nacogdoches. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Carl Smith, Rev. Karen Jones, and Bro. Michael Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center. Gail was born February 15, 1926, in Huntington to Johnny Cuculic and Burney Lee Ivey Cuculic. After graduating from Huntington High School, he attended Stephen F. Austin State University in 1943, served in the Navy from 1944-1946, and graduated with a BBA in 1949 from the University of Texas at Austin. He obtained his CPA certification in 1952. Gail worked at many reputable companies, mostly related to the poultry industry before settling in Center with Shelby Savings Bank, where he was president for seven years and vice chairman of the Board of Directors for twenty years. Gail has been affiliated with numerous organizations including the Lions Club, Roughrider Scholarship Foundation (Secretary), member of the Rotary Club, Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary International, Center Flying Club (Secretary Treasurer), Center Country Club (Director), Center City Council and a member of the First Methodist Church. Survivors include, wife, Janie Cuculic Children: Mark Cuculic and wife, Betty, of Spring Jan Crow and husband, Steve, of Houston Sue Cuculic and Sue Long of Houston John Cuculic and wife, Ayme, of Montgomery Gayla Fidje and husband, Glenn, of Weston, Florida Grandchildren: Poppy Jones Cara Cuculic Leah Peterson Bryan Crow Austin Crow Jenni Waldon Christi Waldon Bailey Cuculic Bianca Cuculic Cole Fidje Carson Fidje Nine Great Grandchildren Step Children: Linda Warren and husband, Doug, of Tyler Steven Sharp of Dallas Brother-in-law: Jim Jenkins and wife, Jonnie Sue, of Houston Nieces and Nephews: Jill Goff and husband, Joe Jeff Jenkins and wife, Chris Special Friends: Moises and Anjelica Valtierra Maria and Sebastian Preceded in death by Wife: Theresa Cuculic Parents: Johnny Cuculic and Burney Lee Ivey Cuculic Beloved dog of 15 years: Belle Pallbearers will be Doug Warren, Glenn Fidje, Bryan Crow, Austin Crow, Jason Peterson and Brent Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Bob McAdams, James Campbell, Burton Brown, Dr. Cengiz Satir, Steve Waters, Weldon Boles, Shelby Savings Bank Officers and Directors and Rotary Club Members.
