Julius A. Nemec, 85 yrs., of North Bend, NE died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 at the Fremont Area Medical Center at Fremont, NE. He was born Sept. 28, 1926 at Prague, NE to Joseph & Mary (Dolezal) Nemec. He grew up in the Prague area and was a graduate of Prague High School. Julius married Marilyn L. Harms on May 4, 1974 at St. Charles Catholic Church at North Bend, NE. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from Jan. 11, 1951 to Oct. 10, 1952. Julius lived in the Prague area where he farmed. He moved to North Bend in 2008. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cedar Hill and member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, formerly the Catholic Workman, for over 50 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #340 of Morse Bluff and a life member of the V.F.W. Post #8223 at North Bend. Julius is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son, Joseph Nemec of Prague; daughter, Elizabeth & husband, Randy McCoy of Prague; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. Funeral Mass 10 AM, Monday, November 21st at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cedar Hill, rural Morse Bluff, NE. Father Jeremy Hazuka, Father Brian Kain and Monsignor Joseph Nemec will officiate. Vigil Service/Rosary 7:30 PM, Sunday, at Moser Memorial Chapel, North Bend. Visitation Sunday 1:30 PM to 8 PM and Monday 9 AM to 9:30 AM all at the funeral home .Burial will be held at the Cedar Hill Cemetery near Morse Bluff. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of American Legion Post #340 of Morse Bluff, AmVets Post #20 and V.F.W. Post #8223 of North Bend. Memorials may be given to the church, the Prague Rescue Squad and to the North Bend Rescue Squad.
