He married Alva Holman in 1963 in Lubbock and was a board of trustees chairman, member of the official board, Sunday school teacher and music director in the Methodist church. He was a member of Clyde First United Methodist Church at the time of his death. In 1920 John was living with his parents in Justice Precinct 3, Wise, Texas. John was 4 years old. U.S. Public Records shows John's date of birth as October 17, 1915 and living in Apache Junction, Arizona.
