Obituary: The Colorado County Citizen, July 7, 1966 Mrs. Vlasta Vavra, 74, of Ellinger died Saturday at Columbus Convalescent home. Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Jecmenek chapel in Ellinger and the Hostyn Catholic church [at Live Oak Hill]. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Francis Kolar officiating. Mrs. Vavra was born in Ellinger Nov. 22, 1881, the daughter of Charles and Frances Zapalac Becka. She married Charlie Vavra Nov. 12, 1912, at Hostyn Hill and spent the rest of her life in that community. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Otto Hilgen of Columbus; 4 sisters, Mrs. Annie Orsak of Fayetteville, Mrs. Betty Syptaka, Mrs. Emilie Kocian and Mrs. Mary Orsak of Ellinger; 3 brothers, Edmund and Alfred Becka of Ellinger, and Johnnie Becka of San Antonio; and 2 grandchildren, Mrs. Elo Raabe of Houston and Bobby Hilgen of Houston.
