Bio
Nolen G Bragg, 81, of San Marcos, passed away in San Antonio on Wednesday, March 19. He was born on March 17, 1922 in Big Sandy To Vernon and Jonnie (Head) Bragg. Nolen served his country in the United States Navy for 12 years. For six decades, he owned and operated Bragg's Barber Shop. In 1928, he moved to San Marcos and was well known for his knowledge of the history, lakes and streams of the San Marcos area. His parents; his wife, Joy Bragg (1989), one son, one brother and one sister preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Donald Nolen Bragg of Sacramento, CA; three sisters, Wanda Godwin of Temple, Lou Ann Carmean of Independence, MO, and Nonnie Nutting of Austin; granddaughter Theresa Tong and husband, Michael of San Marcos; grandson Frederick Bragg and wife, Roberta of Doyle, CA; nine great-grandchildren; three nieces and six nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale, with Mr. Gregg Neil officiating. In lieu of flowers, family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 472, San Marcos, TX 78667.
