Bio
Funeral services were held at the Knesek chapel and at the St. John's Catholic Church at Fayetteville Wednesday for Mrs. Terezie Zapalac, 84, widow of the late Peter Zapalac, who expired at a Brenham rest home Monday. The Rev. Thomas Matl officiated and interment was in the Hostyn Hill cemetery near Ellinger. Mrs. Zapalac, nee Janda, was born in Europe but came to this country when a child. The family settled in the Frelsburg community where she was married to Mr. Zapalac in 1888. Mr. and Mrs. Zapalac made their home in La Grange for many years. Following his death in 1944, she moved to Fayetteville where she resided until the infirmities of old age required that she receive special care. Surviving are two sons, Peter A. Zapalac of Columbus, Rt. 2 and Louis D. Zapalac of La Grange; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Rosaries were recited at the funeral chapel Tuesday night.
