Meta was the daughter of Herman Julius and Wilhelmine Lenz Schultze. She had 7 sisters, Anna, Ida, Amanda, Ella, Linda, Olga and Alvina. She was married to Robert Pringle on Oct. 10, 1922. They had two daughters. She then married Carson Thornton on Aug. 14, 1945 and they had one adopted son.
