Son of Matthew Sobon (b. and d. POL) Married Feb 17 1909 Elyria, Valley, NE ------------------------------------------------- Charles Sobon Buried At Elyria Monday Charles Sobon died Friday at his home after a lingering illness. He was 77 and a resident of the Elyria locality since 1907. Mr. Sobon was born May 8, 1886 at Tarnov, Poland and came to the United States to settle in Holt County at the age of nine. In 1907 he came to Valley County and farmed near Elyria marrying Caroline Koziol there on Febr. 17, 1909. They quit farming in 1939 and Mr. Sobon operated the country patrol for ten years. Last September they moved to Ord. Mr. Sobon was a member of the Ord Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Eva Kapustka of Ord, Mrs. Pearl Lerch of Howells, and Mrs. Laura Renter of Lincoln, two sons, John of Kimball and Leonard of Baltimore, Md., 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Ord Catholic Church with Father Stanley Gorak officiating. Father Robert Wiest of Elyria was in the sanctuary. Mass servers were his grandsons, Larry Kapustka, Greg and Charles Renter, and Allan Lerch. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery at Elyria. The Ord Quiz - Thurs, Mar 12 1964, Sect 2, Pg 1, Col 6
