Bio

Ellen Louise Hipsley, the daughter of Lewis Glenn and Helen Lorraine (Kelley) Hipsley, was born on August 30, 1955, in Clarinda, Iowa. Ellen entered eternal rest on April 13, 2011, at the Greater Regional Hospice Home, Creston, Iowa, at the age of fifty-five years, seven months, and fourteen days. Ellen's father was transferred by GTE from Clarinda, Iowa to Creston, Iowa and she spent the past forty-five years in Creston. She was a Rainbow Girl with Eastern Star. She graduated from Creston High School and attended college for two years. She was a homemaker and volunteered at Greater Regional Hospital. Ellen was a member of the Christian Science Church, the CARE Advisory Committee (in Afton), and she was an advocate for the disabled. She loved the Hawkeyes and had a huge of collection of dolls and bears. Left to cherish Ellen's memory are her brother, David Hipsley, Afton; several cousins; and many friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be directed to Greater Regional Hospice Home.
