Bio

Son of Abraham Shands & Mary "Polly" Wilson; Married Melissa Boydston Penry on 14 December 1847 in Noxube Co., MS. Served as an army surgeon during the Seminole War in Florida (1835), he was later bankrupted by the Civil War. He moved from Mississippi to Kaufman County in 1868 and to Forney in 1876.
