THE OKLAHOMA HORNET, Waukomis, Garfield Co., OK, April 5, 1917 Obituary Elizabeth England, nee Davidson, was born Feb. 4, 1826, near Knoxville, Tenn.; died March 25, 1917, near Waukomis, Oklahoma, age 91 years, 1 month and 21 days. From Knoxville, Tenn., she went to Illinois when but a child. There she remained until the years of mature woman hood where she was united in marriage to John England in 18_3. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters. William and Samuel each died in infancy, Alice died at 14, Ada, now Mrs. Elisha England, being the only one of the children to survive her. Mother England lived a widow 43 years. Her husband served his country in the Civil war and died soon thereafter. Besides the many nieces, nephews and the only grandchild, Arthur England now of Sheridan, Wyoming, one brother survives her, Elisha Davidson of Gerard, Ill. She professed Jesus Christ in her early teens and united with the M.E. church, of which she remained a member till her death. Ninety-one years of activity passing through the struggles of the war with all its hardships, bearing the responsibility of home and meeting all with the strength and courage of a Christian mother. For several months she had been conscious of the inevitable – the summons to another world – and she lived accordingly, conscious to the end. Having set her plans in order waited patiently, for the end. A faithful mother acquainted with Christ has been called to her reward. Faithful unto death has gone to receive her crown of life. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D.T. Morton, and interment made in the Waukomis cemetery.
