Bio

Son of Jacob and Jane (Verbryck) Foglesong. Married (1) Ella Neidt on July 3, 1887 in Clarke County, Iowa. Married (2) Elmira Davisson on January 1, 1896 at his sister Sarah Stenzel's home in Beaver township, Nance County, Nebr. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scotia Register (Scotia, Nebr.), May 16, 1929, p. 1, col. 2 Douglas Foglesong Word came yesterday of the death of Douglas Foglesong, who died at the home of his daughter, in Hastings, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the M.E. Church, Friday morning at 10:00 o'clock. The body will be taken from here to St. Edward where burial will be made. Rev. Randall, pastor of the Methodist church will be in charge of the services here. He was a former resident of the Skeedee neighborhood. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scotia Register (Scotia, Nebr.), May 30, 1929 p. 2, col. 1 The obituary mispells his name "Toglesong" Obituary of Douglas Toglesong Douglas Toglesong was born in Appanoose County, Iowa, July 31, 1860. When but a small boy, he moved with his parents to Clark County where he grew to manhood. He was married to Ella Niedt on July 3, 1887, to this union were born three daughters: Maude Badousek, Scotia, Nebraska; Grace McDannel, Hastings, Nebraska and Katie, who died in 1913. His wife died February 13, 1894. He later married Elmera Davidson, who passed away March, 1923. He united with the M.E. church in 1922, of which he was a member at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. He leaves to mourn his passing, his two daughters; one sister, Minerva Niedt, Berwyn, Nebraska, and two brothers, Chas. W. Togelsong of Truro, Iowa and Jacob Togelsong of Calloway, Nebraska and four grandchildren besides a host of friends. The funeral service was held at the Methodist church of Scotia and interment was made at the St. Edwards cemetery. Rev. G.A. Ranrall was in charge.
