Published in The Bridgeport Index and The Chico Texan, Thursday, October 28, 2010: Mary Belle Lumsden, 98, of Lubbock, TX, died on October 23, 2010. Mary was born on September 9, 1912, in Chico. She was a teacher for 34 years in schools including Chico and Bridgeport. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and an Eastern Star. In retirement she gave many hours as a volunteer and shared her gift of laughter. Survivors include her sons Tommy Largent, Don Largent and wife, Lee, and Finis Largent and wife, Rose; grandchildren Cathy Fostel, Suzanne Gardner, Michelle Halpin, Terri Shaw, Rusty Byrd, Bob Byrd, Dawn Williams, Jull Barnard, Carrie Barden. Mary Belle was proceeded in death by her husband, V. S. Largent in 1942, and husband, Jerry Lumsden, in 1984.
