Alfrieda Alice Simpson, 82, of Burwell died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at the Valley County Health Systems Hospital in Ord. Alfrieda was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Valley County to Joseph and Stella (Bogus) Klimek. Alfrieda married William D. "Bill" Simpson on Feb. 18, 1949, in Kansas. He preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1993. Survivors are: sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Joe and Terri Simpson of Shenandoah, Iowa, Rob and Rita Simpson of Overton; daughters and sons-in-law, Cyndi and Steve Lortz, Terri and Jim Gustafson, all of Lincoln and Lori and Mark Mares of Burwell; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Dotty Klimek of Kearney and Dan and Nadine Klimek of Ord; and a sister, Delores Klimek of Elyria. Burial was in the Cottonwood Cemetery, Burwell, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on November 4, 2011
