Funeral services for Larry Wayne Hood, age 71, of Tyler are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Boren-Conner Funeral Home & Covenant Cremations Chapel in Bullard with the Rev. Dr. Paul Powell officiating. A private family burial service will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Hood was born Nov. 16, 1939, in Tyler. He graduated from Tyler High in 1958, served in the National Guard, was a member of the Baptist faith and had worked in automotive sales most of his life. He lived in Bullard from 1975 until moving to Tyler in 1987. He went to be with his Lord on Oct. 31, 2011, at a Tyler hospital after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Hood and Ruth Adams Hood. Larry is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Christi Hood of Tyler, Chris and Marla Hood of Rockwall and Dustin Hood of Flint; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Edith and Nick Chastain of Tyler and Lou Ann and Ron Curry of Garland; five grandchildren, Chase, Haley, Cason, Tanner and Abigail Hood; and other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers will be Darren Chastain, Michael Chastain, Russ Leonard, Tyler Curry, Luke Curry, Chris Latham and Jarrod Roberts. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boren-Conner Funeral Home & Covenant Cremations on U.S. Highway 69 South, Bullard. Published in Tyler Morning Telegraph on November 2, 2011
