Bio
Funeral services for Bill Hughes, 56, of Lubbock will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 in the W.W. Rix Chapel with Rev Paul Lively, officiating. Interment will be a 1 p.m. in the Afton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Bill was born March 3, 1955 to David W. and Bernita Rinn Hughes in Lubbock. He died Oct. 29, 2011. Mr. Hughes was a well-respected carpenter in the construction business, and enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. He is survived by his mother, Bernita Hughes of Lubbock; three sisters, Janet Hunton of Lubbock, Luann Stone of Jackson, Michigan, and Carol Weidmann of Denver, Colo.; and one brother, Douglas Brooks, of Cove, Ark. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Mike Hughes. Services are under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
