Bio
LaVerna died Friday, October 28, 2011, at Nye Legacy in Fremont. LaVerna was born August 16, 1917, on the family farm near Clarkson, Nebraska to Henry and Louise(Keuhner) Hefti. She graduated from Clarkson High School in 1934. On July 7, 1936, she married Longin L. Jedlicka at the rectory of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Schuyler. They farmed northwest of Schuyler and moved to town in 1989. She was a homemaker, member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and Trinity Bible Study. LaVerna had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Schuyler, the LWML and Ladies Aid of Immanuel. She loved making quilts for Lutheran World Relief and had made "hundreds" of them. LaVerna is survived by four daughters;Sheryl(Everett) Ayres, Kent, Washington, Marilyn(Elwood) Meier, Pierce, Nebraska, Donna(Paul) Suhr, Omaha, Linda(Eugene) Robertson, Rogers, two sisters;Louise Barjenbruch, Leigh and Helen Stanley, Big Springs, Nebraska, a sister-in-law Jo Hefti of Fremont, eleven grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Longin, daughter Marlene Jedlicka, an infant son, two sisters;Margaret Schneider and Dorothy Anderl and a brother, Henry Hefti, Jr.
