THE FLORENCE CITIZEN - FLORENCE, FREMONT COUNTY, COLORADO, USA - Thursday, November 14, 1968 Caroline Brinlee Funeral services for Mrs. Caroline Brinlee were held lMonday, Nov. 11 at 2 p. m. in Florence Mortuary chapel. Pastor Jere Wallack officiated. The Rev. Gordon Smith, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Dom Del Duca, sang "Amazing Grace" and "Shall We Gather at the River." Pallbearers were all grandsons. They were John and David Darrow, James Stephens, Ron Jordan, Kenneth Austin and Harold Darrow. Burial was in Union Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Brinlee, a resident of Florence for 17 years and widow of John W. Brinlee, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, in a Florence nursing home after four months illness, becoming serious the last six weeks. Born June 16, 1883, in Illinois, she was 85 years of age. Mrs. Brinlees (sic) came to Florence from Colorado Springs where she lived 28 years. She came there from Missouri where she had moved from Illinois as a child. She favored the Seventh Day Adventist church. Mrs. Brinlee was first married to Charles M. Darrow on Jan. 1, 1901. He died in 1928. In 1930 she married Charles F. Miller and he died in 1934. Later she married Mr. Brinlee who preceded her in death on May 21, 1960. Surviving are the following children: Will H. Darrow, Ridgefield, Wash.; Theodore A. Darrow, Meridian, Idaho; Mrs. Esther Swain, Okanogan, Wash., Charles M. Darrow, Denver; Eugene D. Darrow, Battleground, Wash.; Mrs. Ruth Katron, Denver; Mrs. Hazel McMains, Hayward, Calif.; John P. Darrow and Mrs. Mary Larkin, Florence; Mrs. Wilma Stephens, Colo. Springs and Earl Miller. Also surviving are 52 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Byrdie Wheatley, Butler, Mo. ------ Maiden name, date of birth, and places of birth and death, courtesy of Findagrave Contributors Joe & Connie, and Mariah , 9 June 2016.
