NOTE: Could her date of birth be incorrect? Or was her mother someone else? Per record of marriage/marriage certificate, her father Amos Denman did not marry her "assumed" mother Melissa Morgan until May 7, 1884, Jasper Co, Texas. -- Also the 1900 census Amos and "Malicie" say they have been married 15 years. Age given for Malicie is 31, born June 1869 while d.o.b. for Mary is given as Dec 1876. DATA DOES NOT ADD UP. It appears that dates for many of these people are way off. ====================== Obituary in the Lufkin Daily News, April 7, 1965 Funeral services for Mrs. Mollie Clevenger, 82, were scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Huntington Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Lohse officiating, with interment in the Huntington Cemetery. Mrs. Clevenger of Huntington died at her residence Tuesday afternoon. She was born on December 18, 1882 in Nacogdoches County and had resided in Huntington for the last 50 years. She was a member of the Huntington Baptist Church. The body was to lie in state at the Albert Bryan residence in Huntington until 3 p.m. Wednesday. Survivors include .. - daughter, Mrs. Albert Bryan - sister, Mrs. Nettie Arnold - brother, Arthur Denman - granddaughter, Mrs. Mary Golden - 2 great-grandsons, Mike and David Golden - nieces and nephews Oakley-Metcalf, directors [obit courtesy Judy Murphy] ∼ Mollie (Mary Jane Denman) Weaver, a widow, married William L. Clevenger in about 1920, after his first wife, Mary J.(Mollie)Carroll Clevenger died in 1919. Mary J. Denman's age was listed in her 1900 Census as 12, born in December. Her 1910 Census indicates that she was born in 1887, and her 1920 Census indicated that she was a widow born in 1888. --------------------- Weaver spouse (unknown burial) linked by suggestion. --------------------
