Robert Jerry Ragan October 16, 1930 - October 21, 2011 Robert J. Ragan, 81, of Odessa, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011 in Odessa, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 25th from 5 PM to 7 PM at Sunset Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 11 AM Wednesday, October 26th at Crescent Park Baptist Church with Rev. David Miller officiating. Robert Jerry Ragan was born October 16, 1930 in Clayton, NM .His family traveled a lot but ultimately ended up in Monahans, TX. It was there that he met and married his wife of 59-years, Billie Jean Ragan. He retired from Prudential Insurance after 30 years and became the owner of Ragan Pipe and Equipment of Odessa. He was a faithful member of Crescent Park Baptist Church for 49 years. Robert also belonged to the Odd Fellows Lodge of Monahans, was a 33rd Degree Mason of Odessa and a member of the Toastmasters. He enjoyed playing bridge and "42" with family and friends and was an avid believer in staying in shape. Family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife, Billie Ragan of Odessa, children: Michael Ragan of Monterey, CA, Jeff Ragan and wife Margaret of Georgetown, TX and Kathy Miller and husband Mark of Prosper, TX, a brother, Joe Ragan and wife Ann of Midland, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, along with several nieces and nephews.
