Bio

Chief MSGT John U.T. Anderegg passed away October 23, 2011. He was born July 16, 1929, in Fredericksburg, Texas to Alvin and Edna Anderegg. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Faith Anderegg and daughter, Monique Anderegg. He is survived by three sisters. They include Lillian Gainey, Mary Mosher and her husband Ed, and Jessie Walters. He also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a god- daughter, Meredith Bunch. He enlisted in the Air Force as a young man and proudly served his country for 30 years. He was stationed in many areas of the world including New Mexico, Greenland, Massachusetts, Spain, Oklahoma, Vietnam Nam, California, and Germany. His last assignment was Idaho's Mtn. Home AFB. He retired to Austin, Texas and began a second career with the University of Texas in the Physical Plant. He retired again after 10 years with UT. He was a member of the Church of Glad Tidings (Assemblies of God) in Austin, Texas for more than 30 years. He and his wife served as associate directors of the Super Seniors for 10 years. They enjoyed planning all the trips and activities. He was loved by all the seniors. John was passionate about his work with the Air Force. He loved working on the airplanes and sharing his experience and knowledge with his friends. He enjoyed traveling with his family and seeing the world. Camping and Volksmarching were some of John's favorite pastimes. Family members and friends enjoyed receiving the woodworking projects he completed as gifts. During the past few months John valiantly battled against the multi myeloma that ravaged his body. He was cared for by the kind staff at the Pflugerville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family wishes to thank the doctors and their staffs who cared for him. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Dennis Welch for his care. John Anderegg was a wonderful husband and dad who will be sorely missed by his family, friends, peers and colleagues. As with most military man winning the battle is the gold and John Anderegg, CMsgt, won his ultimate battle Sunday when he went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Now, the battle is over and the victory is won. Services were held at Church of Glad Tidings, 2100 Northland Drive, Austin. Arrangements by Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, Pflugerville.
