Bio

Ancevelia Brown, 85, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Brown was born in Johnsonville Community and lived all of her life in the DeRidder area. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, W. C. Brown of DeRidder; three daughters, Avis Schales of Shreveport, and Eloise Moses and Evelyn Hillebrandt, both of Woodlawn; one son, Marion Thomas "Red" Brown of Sugartown; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in Shiloh Baptist Church of DeRidder. The Rev. Dore Langley will officiate. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder. Visitation is today in the funeral home and from 9 a.m. Thursday in the church.
