Mrs. RUBY (MILLER) HOLTZCLAW was the daughter of Daniel Webster Miller and Mrs. Lela Beason Davis Miller. She was one of nine children born to her parent's union. Her siblings include Anna Miller, Walter Y. Miller, Mary Edith Miller, George C. Miller, Andrew Clyde Miller, Warren Rupert Miller, Clara Belle Miller and James R. Miller. She was the wife of Samuel Lee Holtzclaw whom she married on August 30, 1931 in Harrison County, Texas. He preceded her in death. Obituary "A memorial service for Ruby Miller Holtzclaw, 86, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Central Baptist Church. The Rev. Wallace Watkins and the Rev. Marion Harris will conduct the service, with music by Eleanor Harris. Burial will be in Grange Hall Cemetery with arrangements by The Sullivan Family of Funeral Directors. Mrs. Holtzclaw died at her home in Raleigh, North Carolina on Thursday, March 23, 1995, where she had moved Marshall in 1994. She was born on March 4, 1909, in Anderson County, one of the nine children of Daniel Webster Miller and Lela Davis Miller. She was retired as office manager of A.W. Dunn Transfer and Storage, of Marshall. She graduated from the College of Marshall. A member of Central Baptist Church, where she staffthed the church library and sang in the WOO choir, she was also a past Worthy Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death in 1980 by her husband of 49 years, Samuel Lee Holtzclaw. Mrs. Holtzclaw is survived by her son, Robert Edwin Holtzclaw and his wife, Lynn Hood Holtzclaw, of Raleigh, North Carolina; granddaughter, Hilary Holtzclaw Phoebus, and her husband, Brian Matthew Phoebus, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church Building Fund."
