There are some mistakes on her headstone. From census records her birth appears to be about 1840 and listed as 1841 by Jeanette Calcat. Prisilla was also known as Pericila Also Her obit says her birth location is Virginia - but on the 1850, 1870, 1880, 1900 and 1910 and they all show Indiana The Eureka Herald THURSDAY, JUNE 16 Mrs. Peter Close Dead Mrs. Peter Close died Wednesday morning, June 15, at her home at Neal, aged 65 years. She had been sick but a few days, pneumonia being the cause of her heath. The deceased was born in the state of Virginia but had been a resident of Kansas for a number of years. She was the mother of eight children, six of whom survive her. Her husband died several years ago. She was a kind and loving mother and a faithful friend. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon by her pastor at her late home and interment was in Greenwood cemetery. Priscilla Long's parents were Thomas D Long b 1805 Russell Co, VA, died 1851 Boone County, IA. (Thomas D Long's parents were Richard Barton Long and Elizabeth Burney Long. Priscilla's mother was Catherine Jessee b 1815 Russell Co. VA, died Abt 1869, buried Park Hill Cemetery, Polk County, IA. Census and family records show Priscilla's birth date as June 1839.
