Bio

Abilene Reporter January 10, 1998 Marion West RISING STAR -- Marion E. West, 89, died Thursday in a Brownwood hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Dodd officiating. Burial will be in Blake Cemetery. Mr. West was born in Brown County, where he lived most of his life, and married Marjorie L. Steel in 1935 in Romney. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of a senior citizens group and Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, of Rising Star; one son, Oliver West of Rising Star; two daughters, Wanda Brown of Carrollton and Juanita Hollis of Clyde; and five grandchildren.
