Dandridge, 92, of Amarillo, a former Dumas resident, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Stan Coffey of San Jacinto Baptist Church in Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Dandridge was born in Waxahachie. She moved to Dumas in 1945 and lived there until moving to Amarillo in 1992. She received her bachelor's degree from West Texas State University in 1949. She was a teacher for 30 years, spending more than 20 years with the Dumas school system. She retired in 1965. She married W.L. "Dan" Dandridge in 1924. He preceded her in death. She was a charter member of the Dumas B&PW and a member of the Amarillo B&PW and First Baptist Church of Dumas. Survivors include a daughter, Jo Dandridge Cox of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will be at 629 Bailey St. They request memorials be to a favorite charity or the Dumas B&PW scholarship fund. (Published in Amarillo Globe-News, February 18, 1997)
