Bio

Alton was born in Austin, Texas, on May 20, 1955 to James Franklin Jones Sr. and Mary Louise Jones (Grosskopf), who predeceased him. He had one sibling, James Franklin Jones Jr. who also predeceased him, whom he described as his best friend. Alton graduated High School from McCallum and enlisted in the Navy where he served on the USS Saratoga. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he met and married the love of his life Sandra (Sandy) Jones on May 17, 1982, who sadly predeceased him. Alton and Sandy spent many years loving each other and loving family. They were the example of what it meant to hold true to the wedding vows, "In rich and in poor, In sickness and in health". All that knew them admired their strength and love for each other. Alton had an extensive career history from Milk Delivery Driver, to Long Haul Truck driver and most recently Walmart night stock clerk in Pflugerville where he made sweet friends and life companions. Alton cherished his friendship and the time he spent with them dearly. Alton had a lifelong passion for computers, music, trains and dogs. He and Sandy loved their dogs very much and his beloved Sweet Pea, a tiny Chihuahua, provided him with much comfort in his last years of battling cancer. May Alton rest in peace in the arms of our Heavenly Father next to his beautiful wife! The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the day of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. Psalm 27:1-4
