Bio

William was the son of William "Patrick" & Sally Ann (Dishman) Ireland. A sister was Dorothy "Dollie" Elizabeth. He married Mary Elizabeth Hodges in Grayson Co, TX in Dec. 1869. Some children were: 1. Willie * 1873 – 1903 2. Eula Lee * 1876 – 1958 3. John P. * 1879 – 4. Edgar S. * 1883 – 1974 5. Elmer E. * 1883 – 1956 They lived in Jack Co, TX in 1880 & Castro Co, TX in 1900. ----- Suggested edit by Contributor: Searchers of our Past (47220553) on Nov. 6, 2022: The Hereford Brand September 30, 1927 "Services for William Ireland were held in the home of his son, E.S. Ireland officiated by Rev. James T. Ross. Graveside services were conducted by Rev. J.W. Walker, pastor of the Jacksboro Presbyterian Church. Mr. Ireland was born near Glasgow, Kentucky and came to Texas with his parents in 1854. In 1878, his family moved to Newport where he lived until moving to Hereford in 1907. He lived with his son, E.S. Ireland since 1921. Survivors include three children; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren."
