Mother was Martha "Mattie" J. Robertson CLYDE RITES SET FOR MRS. BEARD Clyde --- Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Clyde Church of Christ for Mrs. Katherine N. Beard, 80, who died Thursday in Abilene's Cox Memorial Hospital after a week's illness. Officiating will be Roy Phemister, minister. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery under direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Elders of the church will be pallbearers. Born Katherine Helvey, Dec. 4, 1885, in Tennessee, she married George W. Beard. He died April 20, 1956. Survivors include a granddaughter, Mrs. Fowden G. (Katherine) Maxwell, of Starkville, Miss., two great-grandsons, Steve and David Maxwell; a great-granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Maxwell; a sister, Chloe Kennedy, of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, Robert Helvey, of Anthony. !Copied from the Abilene Reporter-News, Saturday, April 10, 1965.
