Bio

Services for Thomas Edgar Hood were held in the Stag Creek Cemetery conducted by Rev. Gordon Barrett and Rev. T.N. Carter. Members of the Comanche High School football team served as active and honorary pallbearers. The members of the Pep Squad were the flower girls. Leland Hood, the only son of the deceased, was Captain of the Comanche Football team. He lived in Lafayette County, Mississippi until he moved to Texas with his parents in 1895, settling in Comanche County, near Gap. Mr. Hood grew to manhood in that community and attended the Willow Springs School. On 3 July 1901, he married Miss Ida Lane and they moved to the Bibb Community where they made their home until they move to Comanche in 1920. Four children were born to them. A daughter, Ovie, died at the age of 12 and a son, Elmer Ewing died the same year at the age of two. Survived by his wife; two children - Mrs. Felton Coker and Leland Hood; his mother - Mrs. J.M. Hood; brothers and sisters - Mrs. J.O. Lane, Mrs. Charlie Preston, J.W. Hood, Mrs. W.W. Ward, Mrs. W.B. Donaldson, J.G. Hood, G.F. Hood. He was converted and united with the Baptist Church in Gap in 1910. Comanche Chief December 2, 1932 Thank you
