Dolly Jewel Caughey was born April 1, 1916 in Oklahoma, son of Mose Caughey (1860-1941) and Zella Childs (1885-1974). The 1930 Federal Census for Calera, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Dolly Caughey, age 15, born in Oklahoma; living with her father, M. Caughey, a farmer, age 70, born in Kentucky; and her mother, Zella, age 44, born in Arkansas. Also living in the household were Dolly's siblings: Leslie Caughey, age 19, a farm laborer; Ted Caughey, age 13; Marcill Caughey, age 9; and J. W. Caughey, age 6; all born in Oklahoma. Dolly married Charles Green who was born January 18, 1913 in Oklahoma, son of James Thomas 'William' Green (1882-1984) and Fannie Hill Barnett (1883-1938). The 1940 Federal Census for Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Charles Green, a sign painter, age 27, born in Oklahoma; and his wife, Dolly, age 25, born in Oklahoma. Living with them was their daughter, Charletta A. Green, age 2, born in Oklahoma.
