THE MITCHELL COUNTY NEWS THURSDAY, JANUARY 4, 1951 JESSIE DAVIS BURIED TODAY Jessie Jeffries Davis died at the home of his sister, Miss Mollie Davis, at 9:15 p. m. January 2, after several week's illness. He was born March 19, 1902 in Durant, Oklahoma. He was brought to the home of his sister from the Sweetwater Hospital last week, where he was a patient ten days. His condition became grave two days before he passed away. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Yapima, Washington, where he lived until coming to Loraine to make his home with his sister. He is survived by one daughter, Sara Jane of Yapima, Washington, and a son, Gordon and by the following brothers and sisters: W A. Davis, Sweetwater, Mrs. B. M. Hart, Fort Worth, Mrs. H. L. Hart, Midland, Dick Davis of Yapima, Washington, Mollie Davis and Jim and Jack Davis of Loraine. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayland Boyd officiating, assisted by the Rev. S. H. Salley. Mr. T. J. Riden will have charge of the song service with Mrs. K. L. Taylor accompanying at the piano. Burial will be in the Loraine cemetery under direction of Kiker and Son.
