Lola Mae Wade, 82, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011, in Sunset, Texas. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Sunset with Dennis Pellet officiating. Burial will follow at Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 til' 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2011, at the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie. Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie. Lola was born October 14, 1928 to Alvin Guy and Bessie Elizabeth(McGhee) Greenwood in Alvord, Texas, and graduated from Forestburg High School in 1946. She enjoyed oil painting, and was a homemaker and mother of her three sons, Doyle, Don, and Dale Wade. Lola was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Sunset, and taught Vacation Bible School and the Junior Boys Sunday School Class. Lola had a passion for music and taught her three sons how to play an instrument at an early age. She and her boys would sing and play gospel and country music at church, nursing homes, and for fundraisers. Lola is remembered with love and appreciation for her devoted years of life as a mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Bessie Greenwood; great-grandson, Tyler Wade; three brothers, Donald Ray, Jimmy Don, and Troy Greenwood; and sister, Lorene Poteet. She is survived by her three sons, Doyle Wade and wife, Linda of Sunset, Don Wade and wife, Donna of Sunset, and Dale Wade and wife, Tammy of Bowie; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two nephews and one niece.
