Stone carved by Hans Jakob Motz, previously known as the Northampton County Carver. Identity discovered due to Frutschi's estate noted for pay Motz for the stone.
Son of Johannes "Hans" and Apollonia (Geiger) Frutschi, married twice; 1) Anna Margaret Lerch, 1753, and 2) Anna Maria Godhard, November 24, 1761, Tohickon Union Church, Bedminster Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. ---------------- Johannes Frietrich Frutschi was born on 24 Aug 1724 in Assweiler, Germany. He arrived at the Port of Philadelphia in America 11 Sept 1749 on the ship "Priscilla." As was the custom he was marched to the Court House to give his Oath of Allegiance. His signature is written in German along with the other passengers. He traveled with his cousin Johann Geiger. His occupation was that of a 'joiner.' He died on 28 Jan 1779 in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He had an estate probated on 1 Mar 1779 in Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Burial: The Lower Saucon Yard was laid-out prior to the Revolution: it is situated two miles N. E. of Hellertown. The public highway separates the old yard from the Church and "new Yard". Services were held as early as 1740. Last name spelled as "Frutschie" on the headstone.
