Star-Herald Wed, Dec 17, 2003 ·Page 5 BREA, CALIFORNIA - Marion E. (Feidler) Kenzy, 92, a former Scottsbluff resident, was called home to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 14, 2003 at Brea. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19th at 10 a.m. at Joliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with Reverand Gary R. Young officiating. A private family burial with be held at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Marion was born June 23, 1911 in Scottsbluff to Frank W. and Josephine (Safarik) Feidler. She grew up on the family homestead 20 miles north of Scottsbluff. She was the youngest of 8 children. She originally attended school in a one-room frame ranch school building 2 miles NE of their home. At age 11, Marion moved to town and lived with family friends in order to attend grade school until her mother could save enough money to purchase a small home. After grade school Marion moved to La Canada, California to live with her half sister Anna. On November 11, 1932, Marion married Kenneth Auld Kenzy. Together they had 3 children: Geraldine Elaine (Laessle) Donna Lee (Treece) Kenneth Edward "Butch" Kenzy. In 1947 after the death of her husband, Marion went to work for her brother, Leo, in his appliance store. In 1962 she moved to Lawndale, CA and lived with her sister Olga Parrish. She worked for North American Aviation for 9 years. When the B-1 bombers lay-offs hit, she lost her job with North American and went to work for King's Wholesale, a food catering company in Los Angeles unter her retirement about 5 years later. Later Marion moved back to Anaheim. She decided she wanted to work part time and went to work for Rooten's luggage as a sales associate and loved every minute of it. Marion moved back to Scottsbluff in 1995 where she remained until failing heath required her to be closer to her son and daughter in California. Marion will be remembered by her friends and family for her sense of humor. Marion is survived by her children: Donna Treece of Brea Butch Kenzy and his wife Betty of San Juan, Capistrano Son-in-law, Jim Laessle of Scottsbluff 12 grandchildren 32 great-grandchildren 2 great-great grandchildren many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband Kenneth in 1947; daugher Geri Laessle in 2000; brothers, Bob, Ted and Leo; sisters Olga Parrish and Evelyn Hinman; and half-sisters, Anna Nekuda and Lucy Roland.
