Bio

Robert J. Derrick of Sandlake died Dec. 26 at his home of infliction of a gun shot wound. He was 44. Mr. Derrick was born Aug. 31, 1937, and was a lifetime resident of the area. He was employed as a brush and fern picker. Double graveside services for Mr. Derrick and his wife will be held Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 1 p.m at Sunset Heights Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ralph Korstra officiating. Hartman's Lundberg and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his mother, Rhoda Owens of Sandlake; daughters Michele L. Freeman, Margina L. Derrick and Victoria L. Derrick, all of Salem; brothers Jess, William H. and Derrill, all of Sandlake and Al of Washington; sister Ada Schrag, Sandlake and one grandson, Jerry W. Freeman.
