Services for Samuel "Sam" Tilden Battles were held in the First Baptist Church. He came to Dickens County in 1924. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include one son; two daughters; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. The Texas Spur April 20, 1961
