Daughter of Dewitt Clinton & Ida Helen (Baugh) Reed. Wife of Julious Henry Houchen. Mother of Opal, Edith, Chris, Evalee, Jo, Charlie, Julious (Hoot), Anita, Wanda, Barbara, Helen, Lavell & Joyce. Adell's given name at birth was A. D. (A for her mother's father, Armstred, and D for her father, Dewitt). When her oldest son, Charlie, joined the navy he was told his mother had to have a given name, not just initials. Soon after he called home and told his mother he named her and it stuck.
