Bio

George Willard Bass, Jr., 86, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2011 in his residence. He was born in Oakdale, LA and lived in Moss Bluff. He graduated from LSU with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a retired Maintenance Engineer with the LA DOTD and a member of the First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff. Mr. Bass also served his country as a U.S. Marine in WWII. He is survived by his wife, Margie Bass of Moss Bluff; son, Tim Bass and wife, Doris, of The Woodlands, TX; daughters, Abby Bass Masterson of Moss Bluff, LA, Vicky Bass of Rosepine, LA, and Sandra Jones and husband, Kevin of Moss Bluff, LA, as well as 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. James Rivers and Rev. Shawn Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Old Ritchie Cemetery.
