Bio

Joshua Jackson "Jack" Ryon was born in Bedford County, Virginia . He served between 1863 and 1865 as a Private in the Confederate Army in Company C, Hardeman's Texas Regiment, 31st Texas Cavalry. He and Elizabeth Ann Richardson, daughter of Thomas J. Richardson and Nancy Hankley Richardson were married on September 16, 1857 in Kentucky Town, Grayson County, Texas. They were the parents of three sons and three daughters. Their sons were William J. Ryon, Thomas Jackson Ryon, and John E. Ryon. Their daughters were Fannie L. Ryon, Sallie A. Ryon and Elizabeth Adeline Ryon.
