Rock Springs Daily Rocket-Miner, Jun 18, 1983 JOSEPH J. KNEBEL Services for Joseph J. Knebel, 77, of 326 P St., Rock Springs, were conducted Saturday, June 11 at the SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. The Rev. Gerald Chleborad officiated. Burial was in the St. Joseph's Cemetery. David Wight, Ralph Potter, Clarence Potter, John Potter, Al Onisto and James Bessler served as pallbearers. Mr. Knebel died Monday, June 6 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after being a patient three days. He was born in Elyria, Nebraska Jan. 18, 1906 the son of the late Valentine and Catherine Silver Knebel. He married the former Rose Sabatka Onisto in Rock Springs Sept. 15, 1962. Mr. Knebel retired as a bridgeman from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1971. He was a former member of the F.O. Eagles, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and the Brother hood of Maintenance of Way. He was also a member of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens Center. Survivors include his wife, Rose of Rock Springs; one stepdaughter, Mrs. David (Jo Ann) Wright of Fruita, Colo., two brothers, Ed and Felix, both of Grant, Neb.; two sisters, Minnie Welnick of Marshfield, Wis., and Helen Wlnick of Elyria; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Knebel was preceded in death by one brother, Leon.
