Wilomine (Willie) Angela Kucera, 77, of Osceola, passed away Sept. 15, 2011 at her home in Osceola. Willie was born March 10, 1934 to Thomas Anton and Georgia Roslyn (Weverka) Hofbauer at Brainard. Willie attended Holy Trinity School in Brainard and graduated from Brainard High School in 1952. She continued her education at Lincoln School of Commerce. Willie worked in offices for Sperry & Hutchinson and State Farm Insurance in Lincoln. On Aug. 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to Charles Gregory Kucera in Lincoln. To this union five children were born. They moved to Omaha in 1955 where Chuck went to Universal Trade School. She worked for Carl Anderson Auto Parts as a secretary until her first child was born in 1957. They then moved to Osceola. Later Willie began working as a nurses' assistant at Annie Jeffrey Hospital until she retired in November of 2004. In retirement she enjoyed decorating, antiquing, tole painting, jewelry, spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's activities. She also volunteered at Annie Jeffrey Memorial Thrift Store. Willie was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, where she was an organist and a member of the St. Vincent's Altar Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors are: husband, Charles of Osceola; children, Vicki Fricke of Omaha, Judy (Lynn) Vrbka of Wilber, Nancy (Bob) Zelasney of Osceola, Dan (Danielle) Kucera of Utica and Ann Kennedy of Gretna; grandchildren, Lynn Fricke, Michael Vrbka, Heidi, Jason and Abby Zelasney, Kendall and Keaton Kucera and Mariah and Seth Kennedy; brother, Norman (Marian) Hofbauer of Osceola; and sister, Jean (Kenny) Stewart of Greenwood. Willie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Georgia Hofbauer. Interment was in the Osceola Cemetery, Osceola, NE. Published York News Tmes: Saturday, September 17, 2011
