Colorado City Record, published in Colorado City, Texas on Thursday, April 2nd, 1981 Mrs. Grover Erwin 87, of Colorado City, longtime Mitchell County resident, died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday in Root Valley Fair Lodge. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday in the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Dennis, minister of the 22nd & Austin Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in the Ira Cemetery in Scurry County under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home. Born August 31, 1893 in Glen Rose, she had lived in Colorado City since May of 1980 and married Grover Erwin Dec. 13, 1914 in Ira. She was a member of the Ira Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by three sons, G. C. Erwin, H. L. Erwin, and J. R. Erwin. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Vanelle Hodges of Mabank, Mrs. Joann Thomason of Carrollton and Mrs. Zona Pritchett of Colorado City; a son, Robert of Ira; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Taylor of Big Spring and Mrs. Hattie Slater of Roscoe; 14 grandchildren; 23 great - grandchildren and two great - greatgrandchildren.
