Found in the PORTALES VALLEY NEWS, January 30, 1919, "E. Roberts, an elderly man whose home was in Lovington, died here Sunday at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Sally Roberts, of pneumonia. He was the father of W. E. (Emzy) Roberts of this county. The body was taken to Lovington Tuesday and buried there yesterday,"
