Bio

Funeral will be held at 10 a. m. Friday for Homer Charles Ewing, 35, whose mangled body was found beneath a Cotton Belt trestle near Addison Thursday morning, victim of an accident which apparently occurred while he was riding on a freight car. Allen Gilmore, who said he was riding in a boxcar with Ewing, reported at Greenville that the victim's feet were protruding from the boxcar door and that he was dragged to the ground as the train approached the trestle. Dallas deputy sheriffs began a search and a severed arm found several yards from the scene of the accident led to the discovery of the body. Ewing lived at 1820 Hickory Street. Of late he had been an itinerant painter and interior decorator. Services will be held at the McCallum Funeral Home with burial in Restland Memorial Park.
