Dorothy "Dot" Heide Dorothy "Dot" Heide, 84, passed away April 29, 2010, in Sugar Land, Texas. A longtime resident of Hitchcock, Texas, Dot was active in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and other organizations and had a great love of gardening. Dot received her RN at St. Mary's in Galveston and worked for UTMB for many years and later as a school nurse with the Santa Fe ISD. Dot is preceded in death by her husband, Byron "Pete" Heide, parents Henry and Rose Reuther, recently deceased sister Elizabeth "Elsie" Taylor and other siblings Lydia Hensley and Albert "Fly" Reuther. She is survived by her daughter, Marshia Sue Flaniken and husband Bruce; grandchildren, Holly Flaniken, Tracey Martinez and Heide Birkelbach; great grandchildren, Mason, Steven Rey, Robert, Sirenna, Maylene, Timothy and Maygen. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at St. Jerome, 8825 Kempwood Dr., Houston, TX 77080. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
