Joseph Alvin Pike, 78, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at a local hospital. Mr. Pike is a native of Chicago, IL. and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, LA. He worked as a Brakeman in the railroad industry and was a retired Korean Veteran of The U.S. Marine Corps. He loved his family greatly and he will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his sons, Arlin Socha and wife Angela of Florien, LA., Alfred Lee Socha and wife Linda of Victoria, TX., and Richard Socha and wife Galane of Oak Harbor, WA.; his daughter, Debra Murray and husband Steve of Michigan; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. His Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA. Burial will follow the service at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake, LA. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA. Words of comfort may be expressed with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
