OBITUARY- Calhoun County Journal Verdie Edwards Taylor, 89, of Castle Rock, CO and formerly of Bruce, died Wed. July 15, 2009 at Brookside Inn, Castle Rock, CO. She was born Dec. 31, 1919 in Calhoun County, the daughter of Eathan and Freddie Coston Edwards. She was a homemaker and member of Castle Rock Baptist Church. Funeral service was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robin Nichols officiating. Burial was in Bruce Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dwight Hein, Jered Hein, Lee Worley, Chad Worley, Justin Worley and Robert Card Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Card Sr. and Horton Taylor. Survivors include one daughter, Terry Taylor (Dwight) Hein of Castle Rock, CO; one sister, Allye (Robert) Card of Tupelo; sister-in-law, Lee Worley of Smyrna, TN; son-in-law, Lee Worley of Smyrna, TN; five grandsons, Damon (Jennifer) Hein, Jered (Laura) Hein and Jason Hein, all of CO, Caleb Breeden and Bryce Worley of TN; one aunt, Glennie McKibben of Senatobia and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Taylor of Derma, who she married Aug. 3, 1941; a daughter, Peggy Taylor Worley and a brother, Laderl Edwards.
